Konstantinos Papaioannou is a visual artist and poet who creates captivating works with themes of Greek mythology, exploring the nature of the psyche through concepts of immortality, duality, and timelessness. Throughout his artistic practice, he has developed his own distinctive style—a complex, hand-drawn, decorative pattern that appears in every one of his paintings.
The moon as a symbol of the divine. On one hand, it dominates a sky consisting of the intricate pattern which symbolises the notion of the eternal and endless soul. On the other hand, it is inside an abstracted human figure: The divine is in us, among elements emphasising our material side (flowers, an apple, a butterfly). The two moons are of the same size in order to indicate the direct connection between the two energies. The two sides of the same coin.
