In 2018, he received the Martin Benka Award, became a three-time finalist of VÚB Painting of the Year 2017, 2019, 2021 and a two-time finalist of the NOVUM Foundation Award 7th and 8th year.
Paradoxes
The artist primarily devotes himself to the medium of painting, and at the same time studies the possibilities of its overlaps, which is characterized by a discursive contribution and material research. The author’s intention is to connect the painting and subject it to various experimental practices at the level of diversity of material, pigments and substrates. He experiments with a combination of traditional and non-traditional pigments, methods of biochemical oxidation processes, which ensures a special effect for topics that are current and at the same time connected with the inner experience of the author.
– From the point of view of socio-critical reflection, the current value-emptying or distorted time reflects, emphasizes the performance of the individual and the preference for pseudo-models. From this point of view, figural creation and work with archetypes of cultural memory dominate. He perceives emblematic figurative compositions and icons of classical art as a model of values and their contemporary value misinterpretation.
– The goal of his work is to examine being as such and the existential situations of the contemporary through an internal author’s statement in the form of an image that is under the pressure of demands for work performance, career, success in life, or thinking. In the continuity of his work so far, he will build and develop the chosen theme based on experience and experimentally examine situations from the point of view
formal possibilities.
– The benefit of the project is to present the author’s inner statement to the viewer in an artistic and experimental way in the form of visual art, specifically, twenty-two paintings with different
dimensions. The exhibition was preceded by a selection of paintings after consultation with the curator for the final number
fifteen works.
The creation was subject to a thorough theoretical and narrative analysis of social events in the world, and on
based on this, the author tried to make a statement or a message to future generations through the means of expression of the mentioned techniques.
