Anna Hausová

Academic Painter

Since 1982, she has lived and worked in Prešov. From 1982 to 1996, she focused primarily on monumental works for architecture (painting, objects, textile sculptures) and illustration work (in collaboration with Východoslovenské Publishing and Slovak Pedagogical Publishing).

Since 1996, she has mainly devoted herself to free creation – drawing, painting, objects, and installations. In drawing, especially large-format, baladic motifs prevail. In painting, abstract motifs of the landscape and the universe are prominent. Her objects and installations often explore the concepts of creation and decay, transformations of the human body, and transitions from one dimension to another, frequently using light to emphasize the meaning of the work.

Another significant theme in her objects and installations is the existential uncertainty of contemporary humans, especially women and their position in society.

From 1992 to 2013, she taught at Prešov University, Department of Art Education, as an assistant professor for the subjects Drawing, Painting, and Textile Design. She has held numerous individual and group exhibitions both domestically and internationally. Currently, she works as a freelance artist.

She is a member of the Slovak Union of Visual Arts and the Per Spectrum association.
