“Paradox II” (2023) is a large-scale visual essay positioned at the intersection of painting and material experimentation. The artist does not work solely with pigment, but directly engages chemical reactions and physical processes acting on the surface. Specifically hydrochloric acid, oxidation, oil, acrylic, and a copper plate.
The result is a work that bears traces of deliberate destruction, transformation, and autonomous development, becoming a living artifact in itself (just as unpredictable as the era it reflects). The surface of the copper plate is disrupted and reshaped through chemical intervention, yet simultaneously fixed into the form of a painting that resists traditional interpretation.
