This work depicts a sunny spring day in the garden, the comfort and peace of the cottage. The author uses chalk diluted with water to cover the entire paper with broad textural strokes. When viewed from close-up, it is possible to see on the dark background the intertwined stems of wild vines and the outline of a house illuminated by the sun. A portrait of a man emerges from the painting, whose features are visible only in the light. This inexpressibility and the play of light and shadows create a unique atmosphere in the picture. The author sees the beauty of a graphic work in this, which distinguishes it from, for example, a painting or a photograph.
