Paulína Halasová

Mgr. art. Paulína Halasová is considered part of the strong generation of young painters. She studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava and, in 2016, attended the Department of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, in the studio of Michael Rittstein, one of the most significant figures in expressive figurative painting. She has had numerous exhibitions in state galleries. Her paintings and a sculpture are part of the collection at the Gallery of Artists of Spiš. Her paintings have been featured in the Painting of the Year competition and the Portrait Triennial.

She creates her paintings using oil and acrylic on canvas. Later, she expanded her creative spectrum to include drawings, objects, and installations. Thematically, she focuses on the psychological experiences of the individual on canvas, which she decodes for the viewer through visual elements. The emotionally charged content is softened with self-irony. Halasová thus brings a sincere dialogue with the recipient of her work.
