“Nature, if we can listen to it, will show us what is incomprehensible to reason. That sensation when we experience happiness and euphoria without any apparent external cause is indescribable. The swimming of Being. Just conscious flow.
I capture visions with my heart, through the spirit of nature. Essentially, I only press the shutter, and it is the spirit of nature that sees.”
I began capturing aesthetics and beauty through photography for the first time in a work environment at the age of about 30. My job was occupational therapy with disadvantaged youth. We worked with plants and created various flowerbeds. That’s where the foundation for perceiving the purity of nature was laid.
The initial shots with a small compact camera weren’t of high quality, but the joy of something new, awakening deep within me, was powerful. A passion began to awaken in me for something that had been invisible to my eyes until then. The work environment I was in was no longer enough for me. Suddenly, even activities like mushroom picking became photographically captivating.
With more frequent stays in nature, my mind stopped being satisfied with a stereotypical life. I felt that something needed to change. My heart needed a change, and my soul needed fulfillment. I left my job without having any idea what would come next. But I knew I needed silence in nature. And a radical shift in thinking. That was when the story of capturing precious moments began.
I found those rare and unique moments on Pipitka Hill, in the southwest of eastern Slovakia, in the Volovské Hills. Silence and peace. I began to feel the hidden, the unknown, and the mysterious within myself. Interestingly, for several years now, I have been creating only in this place, within a two-kilometer radius.
Receiving the first rays of the sun at the hilltop with its beautiful and “infinite” horizon. Watching wildlife, listening to the silence, hearing the gentlest wind in the crowns of beeches and firs, observing the sky, the Milky Way, the howling of wolves – meditation. My vision became deeper. From sunrises and sunsets, through the sky and the details behind the sun, to macro photography.
For several years, I have been presenting my work solely on social media. Thanks to this platform, I have received many inspiring words. This led to the idea of creating a wall calendar called “Poetic Photo.” It reaches various groups of people, and what’s beautiful about it is that it reveals the magic of nature, touches hearts, and uplifts the spirit.
I believe that my work will resonate with you and that through my visions, you will feel the depth of the spirit of nature, which resides in each of us.
