The credo of painter Karin Mikulášová is: “Creation is joy!”. She enjoys creative self-expression, painting, creating collages. Works with textiles and textile materials. She moved from painting on silk to painting with acrylics. She did not abandon silk, she “discovered” acrylic and canvas a few years ago, when she walked into her empty studio, without people. She brought the technique of framing painting surfaces from silk. It creates pictures within a picture. It offers a colorful kaleidoscope and colorful fantasy of exuberant colors.
She took part in the talent competition of the Košice Region under the name SLOVOM A OBRAZOM, the exhibition of paintings in Dolná brána – Košice Montmartre as part of the USE THE CITY 2022 festival. In 2022, in the regional round Výtvarné spektrum Košice Region, she won 2nd place for the painting entitled “The Secret of the Tree “. The painting called “Country with a red house” was exhibited in the regional round of the competition in 2023 at the East Slovak Museum in Košice.
At the beginning of spring 2023, she exhibited in the Glory Cafe in Košice, and later in the Public Library of Ján Bocatia she had an exhibition of paintings under the title ART IN THE READING ROOM.
In March 2023, she won second place in the STAROMESTSK ARTISTIC COMPETITION FOR THE VOJTECH LÖFFLER PRIZE.
In June 2023, Karin Mikulášová exhibited her paintings in Štítová Exchange – The exhibition called KALEIDOSCOPE I had an unconventional and creative opening. It included a raffle, with the proceeds the author bought a large canvas, paints, brushes and painted a picture, which she then donated to the AGEL Hospital in Košice – Šaca, called “Morning in the Botanical Garden”.
This successful exhibition was followed in August 2023 by the KALEIDOSCOPE II exhibition, which took place in the Zemplín Gallery in the Hungarian town of Satoraljaujhely – Kossuth Lajos Művelődési Központ Zemplén Galéria. In September, the exhibition moved to the Magyar-Szlovák Két Tanítási Nyelvű Nemzetségi Ált school gallery. Isk. És College in the same city.
She opened the year 2024 with the exhibition TO THE YEAR AND TO THE DAY again at the Glory Café in Košice.
Her exhibition REMINISCENCES AND RETURNS is currently underway at Café Lampy in Bratislava.
The vivaciousness and joy of life transformed and retold on the canvases of the author appealed to several interested parties not only from Slovakia, but also from abroad. Her paintings decorate living rooms and offices in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Germany.
