Jozef Vojtanek (b. 1979, Sečovce) is a Slovak digital artist whose work emerges from a deeply personal and therapeutic creative process. Currently living on a disability pension, Vojtanek channels his imagination into vivid digital compositions created primarily on his iPad. His art offers a compelling escape from reality, serving both as a reflection of his inner world and a form of art therapy.
Strongly influenced by music, Vojtanek’s creative process is intertwined with soundscapes ranging from synth-pop to underground electronic music. This musical inspiration is evident in the vibrant color palettes, bold contrasts, and dynamic structures of his work. His compositions often weave together pop culture symbols, geometric forms, and surrealist elements, producing a kaleidoscopic and hypnotic visual effect.
Vojtanek’s eclectic style bridges contemporary digital techniques with traditional aesthetic sensibilities. His practice spans from serene, symmetrical arrangements evoking balance and tranquility to chaotic, high-energy pieces that mirror the volatility and dynamism of the modern world. Characterized by a strong visual language, his art combines color, form, and texture into complex, captivating images that invite both visual immersion and deeper contemplation of contemporary culture and the subconscious.
