From the hill that rises above the village, you can see the whole valley, the forest, the mountains and the paths between them. Everything familiar seems to be moving away. The routine of the villagers, their worries at home – everything takes place like a theatrical performance. Small things become unimportant, only the big picture can be seen. You are an observer instead of an actor. It was this carefreeness that the author wanted to express in the watercolour painting “Window into the life of peasants”.
